Vaccination
Vaccinations are a necessary and sensible precaution against infectious diseases. Children are usually vaccinated against all common infectious diseases in their first few years of life by their paediatricians. It is very important that some of these vaccinations are regularly refreshed in adulthood. These include tetanus, diphtheria, and polio.
Every one of us should get vaccinated
We advise all our patients on the latest recommendations by the STIKO vaccination committee, based on the current calendar for standard vaccinations, recommended vaccinations and travel vaccinations.
Why vaccinate?
The purpose of vaccinations is to avoid serious infectious diseases, from which people are still suffering much more often than is generally assumed. A vaccination can either prevent the infection entirely or, if the infection occurs, the severity can be reduced significantly. After the discovery of vaccinations last century, child mortality has fallen significantly.
