Psychotherapy

imageWhen the soul becomes ill

Just like the body, the soul can also become ill. Mental illness can manifest itself in various forms: depression, fears, disruption or lethargy at work, compulsive behaviour. All these have one thing - at least partly - in common: the inability to feel joy.

Mental illness can be triggered by adverse external circumstances: personal crises, stress, loneliness, illness... Sometimes, however, there might be a certain predisposition. Whatever the triggering moment, many people reach a point when they have no idea know what to do next. They need outside support to bring them back out of the depths and become happy, active and productive again. They often find it difficult to admit this, since the “I have failed” feeling makes matters even worse. Last but not least, for many people going to a therapist still has a stigma attached to it.

In such cases, many patients first turn to their family doctor, since mental complaints are often accompanied by physical ailments. During the doctor’s visit, it becomes clear that psychosomatic causes are responsible for their complaints. We can immediately offer these patients our therapeutic assistance.
